I went along to the church on the morning of the funeral to set up the sound system and checked the volume was all right (it was). My mother wanted “All along the watchtower” by Jimi Hendrix played as her coffin was carried out of the church (her sense of humour was better than mine). Although I’ll mention one thing that made me smile… My father read this poem at my mother’s funeral and it makes sense to me.
